Right side of life…

Zirit-Life: so what can each of us do to balance these hemispheres of our brain Right Now? according to Steve Ross, when these two sides of our brain come into balance is when we can really start to awaken and connect to love and the light of the PRESENT …MOMENT..chanting the ancient language of Sanskrit, with its male and female syllables, is a way of bringing the right and left hemispheres of our brain, which have a tendency to be off-balance, closer to the center and back into balance..chanting doesn’t mean you are joining a cult, a religion or that you are a new-age, wackadoodledoo..chanting simply creates a chemical and physiological response in the body and the brain that can make you feel open and happy and all-blissed-out…

You got this!

Paddleboarding is a surface water sport in which the participant is propelled by a swimming motion from a paddle on a long surfboard close to the shore. It is also currently the fastest growing sport in the country, most likely from the fact that almost anyone can participate; considering that the sport can be done leisurely or rigorously depending on your capabilities. What most people don’t know is that paddleboarding has actually been around since the 1930’s.

The sport benefits athletes with a strong ‘core’ workout. Balance is the largest factor at excelling on the board. Another benefit of the exercise is being in or around salt water. Salt has been shown to draw toxins and dirt out of the skin. The benefits of the sun also increase endorphins in your brain resulting in increased happiness and satisfaction (just remember to use sunscreen to protect your skin!). Sweating also cleanses the body and mind, and having the water right under you to cool off is the added benefit! Fitness centers have even started incorporating SUP (stand up paddleboarding) into their options for members. The best time of day for the sport is early in the morning while the surf tends to be calmer.

Another reason to live the salt life!

Surfers for Autism

I volunteered with this organization this past summer and completely fell in love. They have events all over the state of Florida and I will definitely become a repeat volunteer! Such a great way to spend a day at the beach with some amazing children and surf!

http://www.facebook.com/#!/surfersforautism – “The Surfers For Autism mission is to unlock the potential of people with developmental disabilities, while supporting advocacy for autism issues and scientific research. Our focus is to eliminate stigma through public awareness and education and to unite communities through volunteerism.”
